Baskets, Beadwork, Carvings & Gourds

Basketry has been in Shari's background since childhood and her award winning pine needle baskets will once again be featured on this site. She will also display a number of woven baskets and baskets incorporating antler for home decor and gift giving.

Another ancient craft that has kept Shari involved since she was a young girl is beadwork. With a mixture of Lakota, Chippewa and European heritage, her love for this art form led her to bead many award winning pieces over the years, beaded regalia for many Native American dancers all across the country, countless decorative pieces for home decor, as well as jewelry and hair decorations. Although she only takes on select regalia beadwork these days, she still keeps busy with beading pipe stems, hair and bag decorations and incorporates beadwork into current day jewelry pieces.

Shari has never given up those other craft activities that she finds so fulfilling and still works with her carving and wood burning tools to create antler and wood gifts featuring Native American, Southwest and Wildlife designs.

Decorated gourds are another craft Shari just can't get away from. Whether they are painted, stained, burned or sculpted, no two are ever alike. Her favorites are story bowls and they will be featured here.
